Game v. 1.11 - AI tech not shown completely

Hi!
In my current 1.11 patch game I disabled tech trading.
On a diplomacy window I've seen that one AI was researching Photonic Torpedo II, but when I checked what tech it had, I saw it had only Missile weapon theory and Stingers. After few turns they were researching Industrial sectors, but there was no Manufacturing Centers in their tech list. However there were visible all missiles up to Photonic torpedos (still no Photonic torpedo II).
IIRC in previous versions of the game I've seen ALL the tech they had. Is that "tech hiding" a new feature? If it is I don't like it.
