I just bought it.

Validate me.

I just bought myself this game as a graduation present with the money I should've saved for next month's bills.

Tell me why that's a good decision.

(feel free to move this to off-topic if necessary, I felt it was a borderline topic)

Because you will spend so much time playing the game, you won't have time to go out and spend money on anything else.

It will save you soooo much money.

If you should have saved it for bills, it wasn't a good decision.

It's just a game.

What's up with you, are you on drugs or something, you can't go telling the lad lies like that. Tut tut!

Where do you live that your bills for a month only cost as much as a computer game?
Also, cancel any engagements or appointments you may have for the forseeable future. It'll just save hassle later.

Computer games are amazing value for money - £30 for like hundreds of hours of play if you pick a good game (galciv2 being an example:)). Books suck so chronically for value new £10 for like < 6 hours of entertainment. DVDs too, although I don't have to worry about those cos a flatmate buys more or less enough to stock a video store.

If you have bills there are loads of places to (legally/semi-legally) get games - there are loads of decent enough little flash games and abandonware on the internet - Xcom:Terror From the Deep, Transport Tycoon Delux, System Shock 2 are all great and can be downloaded free. The Underdogs has them I believe (although it seems to have disappeared - eep!). Classics titles are also good - things like Dungeon Keeper 2 I still play through and only cost £5ish

I know. I get most of my gaming library from ebay and halfpricebooks (RL store).

This is the first time in months I bought one new.

And Dr Ben I live in Kansas City, MO where a new computer game is the equivalent of a month's cable internet, a month's cell phone bill, or 2 months electric bill.

You must be very lucky, my brother is a hotel manager in KC, MO and his cell bill is quite a bit more than the price of GC2 and most other computer games; however, it's all a matter of what you have to give up in order to have the money for the game. I haven't been to a movie, or rented one, in months but I don't miss it because I've been playing GC2.

I split a cell pan with my GF, knocks the price down.
