A question about precursor mines...

I wanted to know if building a Manufacturing Capital on a Precursor Mine would help or hurt. Do the mines improve Capitals or only Factories?

Hi!
Do the mines improve Capitals or only Factories?

Only factories. Generaly speaking only a building that "produces" something gets a bonus, "wonders" don't.

Precursor Mines don't effect capitols, see https://www.galciv.wikia.com/wiki/Special_tile_resources

u shud never build a wonder on a special tile as they dont get use of the bonus provided by the tile so its a waste of time to do so really

A precursor mine is only usefull once you have enough money, so do not use it in the early game unless you are desperate to buid up your forces or something.

this is the best tile bonus i've seen - i'm still waiting for the mystical, mythical super research bonus tile....

It's always worth building your first factory on a Precursor mine if you can. If you really have money problems, just bring down spending. If you have a precursor mine on your homeworld, build a factory there, and then no other factories, and watch Colony ships get churned out at max speed. What's not to like?

Hi,

A precursor mine on a home planet is nothing short of fantastic. The game is won virtually from the beginning. One factory there, plus economy buildings on every other square solve the problem of production and how to pay for it for a long time. While building the econ buildings, toss off many colony ships quickly, without needing to rush them with cash.

Later in the game, upgrade the econ buildings one by one to wonders and trade goods.

Later still, build ships.

Mmm.

Anyway,

Heh, interesting comment, given that in the past, quite a few people stated that it is suicide to build on bonus tiles at the start because it will bankrupt you. Of course now they changed the system so unusued social is transfered to military but still....
