Weirdness during civ customization...

I started a new custom civ and went noticed that when I reset the races abilities, it still says that I have +20 Loyalty and +25 Soldiering... However if I then select +10 Soldering (only option available), then deselect it, now it says I have no Soldiering bonus. Same deal with Loyalty...

What's going on? Is this normal and if so, WHY!?

BTW: This has nothing to do with the current patch, I've known about this weridness for awhile but only decided to bring it up on the boards now.

Also... Will someone fix this damn forum? It has got to be the slowest and more unstable thing I've seen a long time. Worst forum ever...

Because you just deleted the old bonus. If you overwrite one, it's removed. However, since now built in bonuses work properly, pressing reset will bring them back.

Feheheheh, not really.

Ok, I just tried removing all bonus then pressing reset... nothing happens.

I'm not sure if you understand what I'm trying to explain.

Version? 1.1 should restore all the bonus. I understand the problem, since it was an annoying one in the 1.0 builds. Just go to raceconfig.xml and remove the files there. And don't overwrite races bonuses, they're normally better than anything you can get and they don't stack.

Hit CLEAR at the bottom.

Hope that helps.

yea, reset at the bottom of that window sets all to 0 and customization points to 10. hitting CLEAR resets them to their default. or maybe it's the other way around. either way, the button you need is at the way bottom of that screen.

Only problem is that the AI CAN make them stack. Start a game on all intelligent with the drengin, altarians, arceans, and torians (all four of which start with morale bonuses), and then get contact with them and get low espionage. Most (if not all of them) will have a bonus to morale beyond what their supposed to start with, even taking government into account. If they can stack their starting race picks, we should be able to as well......

sorry, double post. Got a server message that said to refresh but I guess it posted it anyway, so it posted it twice....

The same thing happened to me but everytime i save and load, the bonus gets bigger. One of my custom races has 200% deplomacy bonus.

Yes, it's stupid the way it is now.
You either shouldn't be able to choose the abilities that will lower your bonuses at all or they should stack properly with the inherent bonuses..

The BUG here is that, as an example with the Yor and 100% loyality, either...

The player is not allowed to stack, but instead, wipe out their bonus. A Yor player can pay 1 customization point in order to go from a 100% loyality bonus to a 10% "mostly faithful" loyalty bonus. (Or altogether wipe out the bonus by, then, deselecting "mostly faithful".) Acknowledged that they can undo the damage by hitting reset.

Either a player should not be allowed to pay to customize an attribute to a lower value (and also erase a bonus altogether), or as mentioned, it should stack (which would make more sense), or the free racial bonuses should be removed, IMHO.
