Starbase Module Construction

I can build starbases, but I can't construct modules even after I research them.

I don't know if this problem is unique to me or what, but for some wierd reason I cannot upgrade my starbases. Even after I research module after module, there are no upgrade module options given in the menu of the starbase I select. Did I forget to research a vital tech!? Is there something I'm missing here?

Thanks Stardock, your support staff has been unbelievable so far; any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

You need to build Constructor ships. You can use the stock Constructor or use your own custom designed ship with a Construction Module on it.

Bring the ship onto the same tile as the starbase and you will be prompted to pick an upgrade.

I don't think the manual makes this clear. I had the same problem as TheCommentator. I didn't find anything about using constructors to upgrade, in the Starbases or Starbase Modules sections of the manual.
