Do new anomalies ever occur?

Does the games start with a set number of anomalies that stays the same?

Or do new anomalies occur?

This makes a difference when a send survey ships through an area. If there
were new ones, I guess I would have to recheck.

It seems like occasionally planets p.q. change.

I saw my first inhabitable planet with a non-yellow star. A 26 pq. Nice.

New ones don't occur, and star colour is related to PQ.

Planet Quality doesn't change by itself; if you research Soil Improvements, Habitat Improvements, or Terraforming, the PQ will increase on any worlds you occupy (at least it will when you upgrade the tiles), and PQ will decrease when you use destructive invasion tactics (IE Bombarding the planet with asteroids, nuking the core, biowar, etc.).

I don't think the number of anomalies changes, either.

What are the good colors besides yellow?

Systems with really good planets have purple stars, I think.

A stable wormhole anomoly would be nice though.. as it is now I tend to put a squadron of scouts around a wormhole anomoly so no other race can get it then I make a custom survey fleet with constructors/colony ships that can then jump in and use another area..

Byram says:

The number and location of anomalies are same...
type is RANDOM ( ex: Research +1 or Ship bonus)
Plant type and Location is same ...
but Special Tiles are RANDOM !!!!

Hope this helps

Newly formed anomalies would be a great addition to the game. As it stands, finding anomalies feels a bit less like exploration and discovery and a little more like rushing around the galaxy as quickly as possible, collecting them before opponents do. If the galaxy began with a few rare anomalies and then new ones cropped up later, it would encourage keeping survey ships around in the mid and late game, and make it feel more like actual exploration and underline the weirdness and coolness of the universe.

Oh, and stable wormholes are the coolest idea ever.

Anomolies that spawn thru-out the game would be a very good addition. It would be very nice if your cool Flagship (Survey Ship) still had a function mid-game. I hope someone puts in this change.

Also... it would be nice if the players woukld be given some control over the initial number and TYPE of anomolies. I'd just like a little more customization control to be added. I'd also like to see some of those big Asteroids from later patches of GC1. Also the addition of some of the Space Monster Eel Eggs would be cool.

Perhaps the number of anomalies could be fixed from the start--although I would
kind of like new ones. But perhaps better scanners would find more of them.

I'd love to see anomalies spawning throughout the game on a semi-regular basis. Barring that, perhaps a random even could repopulate the galaxy with anomalies as a one-time event.

I'd like to see them respawn too.
