Why buildings always have "Never" ?

When I click on a building, the estimated time building always tell me "Never", and when I start the building it shows me many weeks (next turn, it shows me the REAL value).... why??? It's difficult to choose a good construction plan with this problem!!!
Thank you!

Because no social production is occuring, it's automatically carried over to military prodcution.

Okay but how can I do to solve the problem ? I need to know how long it'll take to build !
How can I de-activate the carry-to-military-prod. option ?

You can't, it was whined about for an inordinate amount of time, so they put it in. It's a game mechanic, not an option.

The easiest thing would be to focus social, then un-focus it, and it'll show you the time.

Several options could fix this. First, usually it fixes itself if you add more buildings to the production line-up. Second, if you click on the focus production button for social (top of the planet screen) then it will start factoring it in. Then you can readjust to normal by clicking it again, or whatever, as you see fit. Or, if you leave the planet screen, and come back, it also is generally fixed.

Ok thank you all
But again, I think it was better to put on an option to choose if you want to do this automatically... Hope there'll be an option in 1.2... Thanx again!

And, if your money goes into a negative amount all research and production will stop until it is positive again.

I'm pretty sure that's only below a certain amount, like 2000 bc.

No it won't, because it'll screw you over otherwise. It's spending money on nothing when you're using social with nothing to build, so don't expect an off switch.

Seems to me it's something the developers just missed during the update. Should be an easy fix.

This is a very annoying problem and something that should be on someone's "To Do" list.

But the game updates the social as fast as it can, It needs to see the data to evaluate it correctly. I'm fairly sure it can't do this automatically, and social is (as I said) non-existant at the start.

It isn't, really, though. Have a planet not build anything, and the social production will still be displayed at the top, along with arrows to indicate that it's being diverted to military. However, the fact that it shows the social production means that the game already knows what the social production is, so getting it to use the available social production (which is however much is being shown in the box up top) instead of the current social production (zero) should be possible.
