I like the idea of a slider to choose the incidence of Random Events. Good candidacy for becoming a requested feature for V1.2 implementation perhaps.
Trouble with them really is that they become repetitive, particularly when colonising having landed on a new planet. Even if they're not repetitive, they seem so because they're rehashes of GC1 content. Not that they're Bad, but just some fresher new situations would provide more variety. However it's easy for me to say this but hard to come up with some original ideas that would blend into the game. Or perhaps some control testing could be implemented so that they don't repeat themselves before say 6 or more other & different scripted incidents have occurred.
