Neutrality Research Centres

They should auto upgrade. I dont care that they are special for Neutral civs, everything else does, why should i have to go through all my planets and do it myself? Hoping the next patch will address this... thanks!

The neutrality research centers are a separate building. The are actually on a different part of the tech tree from normal research buildings.
Because of this you have to build them manually (you could still build discovery spheres if you wanted too.)

one of my favorite reasons to play neutral

I don't mind upgrading them manually, but I think neutral is a bit overpowered at all. The NLCs really rock research and as neutral player you even don't have to spend time into the soil enchancement tree, you'll get cthe complete enchancements for free.

I understand they are seperate from the normal research route... what im saying is that they should auto upgrade... im just about to research them in a gigantic galaxy and its going to take a while to manually upgrade all my planets. My question is why? why should i have too? the game is so good in so many other factors this is like an annoying bug that will definitely prevent me from going neutral again due to general laziness.

Lazyness will prevent you from doing a lot of things...

You know...

You could always do what I do.

Begin the game by going for Research Centers, Research Acadamies, Xeno Ethics, NLC first, and in that order.
Have you Research slider set to 65% or so, to get there faster.
Then, you won't have to upgrade as many when you get the NLC, and you will have it early enough in the game to give it the most advantage in the game. Then after they are all upgraded, go for the Invention Matrix and Discovery Sphere to get the Omega Research Center and place that on your most research productive planet.

how about no?
your strategy doesnt work for me. I pursue a different strategy every game i play... i dont want to have to factor in the fact that my bases will not auto upgrade to the best option they have (like they do every other option i research).

Non auto upgrade to neutrality research centres is counter intiutive; and no fan boy defense can say otherwise.
Fix this and make a better game.

Even being neutral, you should go as far as habitat improvement, so you can build the Aphrodisiac thing. Doesn't take long to research.

or you let some AI build the aphro thing and trade for it (what you can easily do with that massive research advantage the NLC gives)

i also thing neutral is a bit overpowered
the good super-armor is nice but my the time a good player has it, i already got to the high class "normal" armor as a neutral, which is better then the special armor the good guy gets

neutral lerning centers are better then anything a non-neutral player can get
evil weapons / good defenses are not better then anything a neutral player can get

so in the long run, there is no tech advantage in being good / evil and the diplo / financy boni the good/evil alignments give are easily matched by those extra trade routes you get as neutral (giving you good diplo and money if you use them)

btw last game i won as neutral (tough) without building a single military ship
just tech trading, having ultra high diplo because of those diplo techs i got, and trading (12 trade routes make a LOT of money)
even the drengins and yor loved me for trading with them, i got them to ally with me - as neutral and without a single (military) ship ! diplo victory in mid game, those 3 extra trade routes made the difference

btw something constructive:
it would save my day if good / evil would not only have 1 extra weapon / defense per tech tree but two
one in the lower half (like it is now) and one close to its end
the one close to its end should be better then the best normally available weapon / defense (and a lot more expensive)
so the good / evil guys would have an advantage in late game, right now they dont
