neutrality research center doesnt replace discovery spheres and some other issues

The neutrality learning centers produce 22 research and cost 4 maintenance, discovery spheres (the normally highest level research structure) produce 18 research and cost 4 maintenance... There is absolutely no reason why they should NOT replace them and autoupgrade on all planets (not to mention its annoying having them both on the list)

Also secret police only gives a +20% to morale (and is a superstructure)... this is a fraction of a regular moral boosting structure (ex, VR centers give +60%)

It will be great if there was something you could click to be taken to the next planet with an empty tile.

And choosing neutrality automatically gives you the equivalent of orbital terraformers, except its far FAR cheaper to research and construct. Do you even have to research the entire terraforming tree? why not just go straight with neutrality.

Clicking on "reset" when selecting traits for the terrans in the official campaign refunds you with the full 10 points, but leaves you with several bonuses (selecting a new bonus and then deselecting it overwrites it and properly resets the selection).

first of all, again PERSONAL MODDING IS NOT THE WAY TO TREAT BUGS!

Second of all, the NLC is supposed to become available BEFORE discovery sphere, and be BETTER THEN discovery sphere. If you mod it to come after you are weakening neutral comapred to good or evil. This is not a solution to the bug, its a workaround, I know how to make workarounds. This is a bug and should be fixed by the developers in the standard game so that you could play a standard non modded game, have it work, and submit it to the multiverse ranking system.

I doubt there is any way to make it act perfectly when it comes to upgrading other buildings, because it a completely different branch of technology from the others higher up than Research Acadamy.

Having its upgrade target as Discovery Sphere works best with how I play. But that may be because I research to at least Discovery Sphere shortly after I get the NLC, and well before the AI usually gets to Research Acadamy or Invention Matrix.

There sometimes still is the hassle of canceling currently upgrading research buildings on planets that I capture if I want to set a certain build order in that turn. It is something I must live with, so I don't rant about it.

The fact is, with NLC you can get the strongest research in the game very early. Any inconvenience with upgrade targets should be taken in stride, especially since there is really no way to change how it fundamentally works. Again, because it is a new branch in the tech tree, not a loop or a bubble within the original one.

there is a way to make it upgrade perfectly, change the code so that the script will work. Its alittle harder then changing a script (30 seconds of work for a completely amature) but it is certainly doable. This bug has still not been resolved.

In an attempt to fix it, it was added to the list of autoupgrade. Now instead of being completely excluded it WILL autoupgrade, but only from ONE building. If I recall correctly only discovery spheres will upgrade to NLC. But NLC is researchable before discovery sphere, if you do that then it will not upgrade.

What does that mean? with scripts you can determine an order of upgrades. 1 > 2 > 3 > 4 > 5 etc... it works ok aslong as you aquire them in order, but if you aquire them out of order it will break. This isn't a matter of scripting, its a matter of changing the code to account for the possibility of you aquiring tech out of order.

PERSONAL MODDING IS NOT THE WAY TO TREAT BUGS!

Not to mention that if you decide to play the metaverse, you can't use any mod.

Yap, that is correct and has been mentioned several times in this thread... SO STOP SUGGESTING IT AS A POSSIBLE FIX!

taltamir, we can't add scripting at this late date.  It's not a trivial fix.

Indeed it is not trivial, but it can at least be put on the list of known bugs or something. Thats why I created the thread, as a bug report.

Or maybe there is a simple workaround, it at least bears looking into doesn't it?
