Farms on bonus land not counted for food production

The title says it all, basically when I build a farm on the enhanced (+300%?) farming land, it did not get counted towards the total food production on my planet, which remained at 5 (from the original colony). I tried destroying and rebuilding the farm on the land multiple times, and it didn't work. I then built an additional farm on another spot, and wound up with 13 food production (5+8 for the upgraded farms I had at the time) which still didn't include the enhanced land farm.

Then I finally gave up and destroyed that farm to build something else there. When I checked back later on, I was now at -3 food production (that's right, *negative* 3) with the initial colony and the other farm. Clearly not working as intended. I have not verified this in another game, but it was true in the one I played last night.

I'm trying to reproduce this to see where the problem is.

I have a tile with 300% food production bonus. I build a "Basic Farming" there. My planet now shows 26 mt/wk ( 10 for capital + 4 from farm + 12 from bonus = 26 mt/wk )

I upgraded that farm to Xeno Farming and that brought my food production to 34 mt/wk ( 10 for capital + 6 from xeno farm + 18 from bonus = 34 mt/wk )

I then built another Xeno Farm in a different tile (without a bonus). Now my Food Production is 40 mt/wk ( 10 from capital + 6 from xeno farm + 18 from bonus + 6 from new xeno farm = 40 mt/wk )

I then upgraded both xeno farms to intensive farming which brought the food production to 50 mt/wk ( 10 from capital + 8 from intensive farm (on bonus tile) + 24 from bonus + 8 from intensive farm (regular tile) = 50 mt/wk.

From these tests, everything looks ok. Can you provide instructions that show how to reproduce what you experienced? Or, even better, if you have a saved game that shows this problem, please e-mail it to [email protected] and lin to this forum thread in your message. Thank you.

This could be the upgrading bug, where if you build a building on the exact turn where you get the upgraded version (or something to that effect), then the building becomes meaningless.

I just got the same thing for a manufacturing bonus!
I had a Factory on a 300% bonus and my social production was at 2, military at 2 and tech at 19 (there are other buildings).

It didnt matter what % I put the social spending slider to, the social prod on my planet only went between 2 and 4.

Its going to take 200 turns to build a technology capital on one of the few planets I have with manufacturing bonus but around 47 turns on my lowest production planet!

Saving and reloading the game seems to have cleared the problem. I havent checked the bonus is in play though.

EDIT: just checked the save file. For a social spend at 20% I get 12 points in Social Production now instead of 2. Quite a relief I can say.

(To me the numbers now add up but for reference: manufacturing i get 12mp from the colony base, 10 for the factory on a 300% bonus. My race has a 40% prod bonus on the stats screen. Social spending at 20% on the slider)

Problem is I HAD to reload and now I get that ghost turn where nothing will happen right at the start of my game
