Soldering Techs

Seriously, the AI needs to value these. It's so easy to crank up your research for a few turns, bum rush the soldier techs, and have 3,000 soldiers take out 12,000 with just using traditional warfare. It gimps a very useful strategy of just soaking up with numbers if you research ZERO soldiering techs.

Take for example.. Playing on Tough with the Terrans and it's late late late late in the game. I've conquered all other races and I am mopping up the Arceans. I have 120 soldiering bonus vs. their 40. This is the higest number I've seen, but to be that late in the game? Value this IMPORTANT tech. more.

Soldiering also works based on your tech level. IE, if you mopped up the rest of the civs, I'm sure you had a higher tech than them, and if your at all like me, You leave the weakest civs for last, or the overwhelmingly powerful for last as allies.

If your tech level is way higher than the weakest civ, then no duh that only 3k soldiers can take out well over 12k.

I've seen the AI with Soldiering bonus 85 and above, a number of times. A lot of it depends on who your fighting too. The Drengin value it quite a bit, obviously.

Soldering works great when wiring circuit boards. Congratulations on earning your Pretard of Honor medal. You'll receive it in the mail soon.

Your advantage is also increased by being the attacker.

So much for von Clausewitz.

I've owned the entire soldiering tree, and the Drengin still always have a non-trivial soldiering advantage. Granted, I can still invade, butnow it means that a world of 18B requires an 8B invasion force + information warfare.

Soldiering is based on your invasion technology and any race bonuses.
Technology is a different category based on overall technology (I think).
The advantage factor is these two stats combined with your planetary invasion tactic, using some confusing, yet elegant mathematical equation that I don't know about.

So what you were saying has some truth in it...
