Why AI, WHY! Why do you love farms!

My mouse tires of demolishing them. Damn you! :)

Why does the AI build farms on class 3, 4, 5, or 6 planets? I can see ONE on a class 6 MAYBE if it was bored and has cash to blow, and needed that extra 1.86 billion people for like, I dunno, bio-weapon testing.

But I have seen the AI many, many ,many ,many ,many ,many ,many ,many times build multiple farms on low class planets.

Yeah great, 2 farms and a Colony on a class 3. You go boy! Ooh a class 5 with 8 tiles thanks to terraforming, and 6 of them are farms, wow thats awesome...

So uh, can we get this fixed? Please???

Sometimes even on larger planets like 7 or 8's, they also will build more farms than the population can use. Like 5 or 6 on a class 8. So it's not just the low planets either.

Yeah its annoying i remember taking over a class 20 planet that had 8 farms and 11 embassies ...or a class 10 with a precursor mine tile ( +700 manu) that had an embasssy on it :O

In my latest 1.1 game the Drathi had focused on economic buildings for all of their class 4-8 planets: farms, morale, stock exchanges, and embassy or two. Pretty ridiculous on a class 5.

The AI does this just to piss you off so when you capture the planet you have to rebuild everything.

The AI never seems to use planetary bonuses. I have seen planets with approval rating bonuses and the AI decided to build factories on them, it then decided to build multi-media centers on the other plain tiles. The AI actually uses the bonus tiles about half of the time.

I see this type of mismanagement everywhere and I play games on "challenging". The AI could actually be tough at this level if it actually knew how to build infrastructure.

I have seen orbital defense systems of PQ4 planets, seriously!

I know an easy answer is for a dumb AI to do dumb things if you're playing at a low diff level. But, even on tough it does that junk as well as put starports on planets with horrible production (Like Wisp LoL )

Only 11 embassies? Yesterday i conquered an alterian Planet with 15 embassies. They even build an embassy on a 700% percusor mine, it seems to be an special alterian loosing tactic! "Now I know why you `re loosing this war so fast,hehehe" was my first thought....

I think the computer players specialize planets much more than human players tend to. Given that the AI plays a pretty good game, the fact that it doesn't always use planets like we would doesn't mean it's doing something wrong.

Also, it uses the special tiles pretty well in my experience. Sometimes it's better to put a factory on a specila food tile though or a research center on a morale tile. Just because you could get some extra benefit from a tile doesn't mean it should dictate what you build always.

I've never seen the AI build farms on a low class planet :S

I am, however, concerned with the Korx in my present game. As I'm liberating their planets, I'm encountering one factory, one shipyard and the rest embassies.

Well IF the planet HAS a morale building... Then it should GO on the Morlae Bonus Tile... Right?

Ok if it didnt have any tech on a planet, and had tech bonus tiles, then yeah build a Manu building on it.

I mean EVERY planet will use Moral Bonus Tiles. No race has 100% perm morale. So these should ALWAYS be used. But they aren't. I could see not putting a Manu on a 700% tile because it would bankrupt the AI. But at least SAVE it for later

I agree. The AI needs seperate build algorithms for different pq-levels. Maybe one for pq<=6 for example that forbade it from building farms or morale buildings and some other stuff.
