does xeno ethnics end ethnical alignment choices?

because i find that after ive researched it, no more questions pop up more or less on the lines of saying "do you want to be good, neutral or evil"

is this true or false??? any way to address this?

Yes, it ends the choices because you have chosen a path. It's intended that way.

Does it completely end random events that invovle choices, or are they just auto-decided without notifying you? It would suck if choosing a path ended random events (well, for evil it would )

It would be cool to still allow the choices. If you spent 10k to go good, you would have to choose good, or if you dropped down, you LOST the money you spent and lost the ethical bonuses you received. If you wanted to go back to good or something you would have to re-pay and rebuild the tech you gained previously.

I always choose ethics AFTER the colonization phase. That way I maximize my PQ bonuses free creds etc

When you make the choice then you get bonuses dependent on what you chose which are pretty damn good bonuses.

I'm kinda partial to the Neutral Alighnment,, the Moral boost is great for my Economically Heavy play style. Not to mention the Insta Terraforming thing that it has, and the Learning Centers.....i love it

is there any reason not to always pick the evil option every time and then simply pay those irrelevant 10 BC per turn later to be good or neutral ? the evil options are worth a lot more then those 10 BC per round (and if you want to go neutral its only 2500 BC total, most time i can afford that in one shot)

Yeah but bye the time you get to choose your Alignment The choices are usually over anyway. By then the galaxy is pretty much Colonized.

if you dont mind being generally hated by everyone, and probably being attacked by multiple enemies, then theres not many reasons to not pick the evil choices. I find my choice depends on my current galactic situation.

There are also random events that occur, though less often, just at random times throughout the game. I have had a few. I did get a screen once for an event that allows you to choose what to do (the pods that meld with people and cause pain i beilieve), but did not recieve a choice. This was after choosing an alignment. Can anyone else concur?

prozombe:
but when i then chose the good alignment (xeno ethics) they will like me again, even if i picked the evil choices
i just have to pay those 10 BC

or is there any hidden catch?

yeah, that is probably true and I am not close to being an expert here. Yet there might be more side effects of being "hated", such as not being able to trade for techs will the good guys (if you do that).

Your idea is sound I think, but doesn't it kinda force you into researching quickly to the "Good and Evil" tech, before the galaxy gangs up on you?

Ive only played about 10 times, but in my short experience I do better when choosing the nuetral/good choices.

ALWAYS pick the evil choices... unless you relly have a hard time beating the AI on crippling i always pick the eil choices , and drengin or yor will always like you if your evil ( and they are the most aggresive at start) and try to send some freighters to the most powerfull civ to buy you some time on huge galaxies i build my first fighter with minimum 5 attack and 10 speed.

You do some suffer ill effects from the initial evil phase...

Then again, if you're surrounded by evil neighbors, you might as well join the party- what happened in my game- I was Drath and my neighbors were Yor, Drengin, and Korx- so I went evil...

Paying to go one way vs what you've done is just silly. They really should change it. A much better way of doing it is your society wouldn't be happy if you broke away from your roots. Further I don't think you should be able to go from totally evil to good.

Of well. Even better would just remove the choice... I personally enjoy taking a few evil choices and then making up for it to either go neutral or good.

If you start out as the Altarians the initial evil phase is the initial neutral phase. This is probably true of other civs like the Torians, but I don't know first hand.
