Bravo to Stardock

I'm a newcomer to the Galactic Civ games, I just heard of them about a week ago. Bought and downloaded the game last night, and I have to say that so far it utterly exceeds my expectations. Seriously. This is what MOO3 _SHOULD_ have been like, rather than the disappointment that it ended up being. Sure, there are little things here and there that I would change, but they are all very minor and the game as a whole is wonderful. I've gotten my butt kicked twice, thinking of turning it down to an "easy" setting until I get the hang of things.
Oh, and one of the things that I really like is the humor, as well. For example, the highest level Population Growth bonus being listed as "Don't Ask." The Monty Python references and other comedic material in the research completed screens, and so on. Just enough to make it fun without getting too corny.

can't talk, got to kick Korx
) I still suffer from a slight twitch in my side for buying that one. I played it exactly once. The other thought was...Stardock? Who the hell is that? Never heard of 'em. It's going to be just another 4X clone. Then, after playing CIV IV for a bit, I saw the game referenced on one of their forum sites. Hmmmm, this got me thinking. If it is good enough to be posted on a competition site, then the game must be worth taking another look at. The next step would have been to get a CGW or a PC Gamer and read a review. Well, I did not wait that long. I went back the the Best Buy and picked it up. Since then, I have shelved CIV IV and I am truly happy I made the purchase. With every upgrade to the software, I find my experience even more enjoyable. Who knows, you might find me in my nursing home playing GalCiv XX if the company is around that long. Thanks again Stardock, you have a winner in my book!
