Unable to use my serial number ((#error 3))


Creators of the game Galactic Civ's 2,

It would seem that after going through the entire process of registration to be able to enjoy your latest patch that Ive become stranded at the registration section when I need to fill in my product serial number. The error goes :

Error 3, Serial Number Is Not Registered To This Account

Odd seeing as I can't remember registrating before. In risk of sounding arrogant however seeing as I paid for the product I do wish I could make use of your exellent updates.

Ofcourse this could all be the result of my own disability with computers and the internet especially so I hope you will be able to help me as soon as the oppertunity arrives.

Naturally I stand ready for any possible question you may ask in order to speed up the process and im willing to correspond through E-mail if that is a more desired medium.

I'm not an employee of Stardock but...

Did you put your serial number in when you first installed the game?

Would it be possible to use Stardock central to download the patch?

Have you tried making a metaverse character first so your serial number is on your account?

I have a tipp, don't know does it helps in anyway or not.

If you have already an account by stardock, connecting to internet, start stardock central, in the menu go to >Tools >Lookup Serial Number, normally you see your valid email address in it otherwise enter it.
Hit the 'submit' button, and I guess, in a few seconds you get an email with all your registered games (or others) and the belonged serial number that are registered to that products so you can compare it.
So I encovered today there is a different GalCiv2 number registered for me as in my retail box. And I imagine the bug is
on my side, I suppose that I conversed my number, when I foolished enter my 'GC2-....' serial in this special paradox Link for european customers of english - versions of the game, without any need.

I had similar problems having registering my game with a different email address to that of my Stardock account. I solved it by opening a new account with Stardock using the email address I registered the game with, and all works fine now, Stardock central recognises my account.

I have a similar problem. I get Error 3 or Error 4 when trying to register the game.
1st : I´m not sure if I enter the correct serial, because there are 2 "0"-characters in it, and I don´t know if it´s a "0" (Zero) or a "O" (the letter).
2nd: I bought the game on ebay (used) and it could be possible, that the previous owner registered the game. How can I prove to Stardock that I´m in possession of the game now?

I'm having this problem too. I'm not even sure what the procedure is to handle these, if there's a specific order I'm missing. I've gone into the game launcher and used the "Update Serial" function. Then I go to the bottom of this site and click, "Register," input my key and get "Error 3: Serial Number Is Not Registered To This Account" and "* Your GalCiv II Serial Number was not registered." messages. Then I try to activate 1.11 and get another error. I've emailed both [email protected] and [email protected], two days ago even, and gotten no response from either. This is incredibly frustrating. Can someone take me through the process, from start to finish?

I purchased mine online from Futureshop Canada, if that matters at all.
