Race color, blind toggle, Control N all broken?

Yep, so I patched and all that jazz... got my 6800gt with brand new drivers on a fresh install of windows xp pro...

Havent actualy pushed end turn yet because of three seemingly important features not working.

Race color... no matter the color I choose, my influence circle is rainy day gray.
Blind exploration toggle... either way, Im blind to other races start locations.
Control N... instead of regenerating a map, it takes me to metaverse log in screen.

Are these all new "features" for metaverse play or did I horribly mess up the patch?

The CTRL N taking you to the metaverse logon screen in metaverse games is because I've been getting e-mails from people who can't submit games to the metaverse and their games are not metaverse games.  This is an attempt to make sure that the game is registered as a metaverse game.

Did you make sure that the population button is On for the minimap when blind exploration is turned off?

I don't know what would cause your race color to always be grey unless it's not saving your raceconfig file.  Try deleting the .raceconfig file in My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2 and start over.

The grey could be the ship range and not the influence zone. Is the right option selected on the minimap?

Thank you for smacking some sense into me
I was away too long.

One last question... is there any way to disable the cntrl-n feature that takes you to metaverse screen?
I was not one of the ones sending you emails, never had a problem submiting metaverse games after cntrl-N, and this new feature in efffect completely nerfs cntrl-n for me...

Damn. I guess you have to not scrub for easy maps then.

Honestly, I'd like the same option. I hereby state that I have zero interest in the Metaverse, and will never, ever submit a game to it. I still don't want to start in a bloody corner with no bloody stars around!

I too had no problem with CTL-N before. It always worked for me. Bumping you back to metaverse log in is effectively an elimination of the feature, since it saves on about one mouse click and takes about thirty time longer. The CTL-N feature is completely usesless as currently implemented. You might as well have left it as it was before. Then at least SOME people go value out of it. Now nobody will, because it adds almost nothing that one cannot accomplys by clicking Main Menu and then Metaverse.
