Hi All,
Need some more help!
I was minding my own business when the Altarians decided to have a go at wiping me.
With malice aforethought I had enough spare cash and a design program set up to get a defense fleet into space quite quickly, which I successfully did and within a short period I had trashed his fleets and he was whining for peace. Since I was still not really ready for galactic conquest I opted for the peace and demanded one of his planets as payment - he accepted.
Here then lies the problem. Most of my trade routes went straight through Altarian space and during the war he killed all but one of my freighters, leaving my economy in pretty bad shape.
As quickly as I could I built replacements and sent them off to do their stuff and get the cash coming in. But every time a freighter arrived at it's destination I was told that I had exceeded the total number of trade routes that I was legally allowed!!
Checking back with the Economy Screen and the sub-screen Trade Routes, I was only showing one active trade route!! I then removed/deleted that route and tried to set up new routes again - no deal!! Any Ideas???
Also for future reference, is there a way of setting up the trade routes to go around or avoid enemy/potential enemy space? Or what about trade convoys with escorts for wartime?
Suffice to say the Altarians attacked again and I have had to carry on without any trade at all (surely that can't be right?) and yes I whupped him again and have just invaded and captured his homeworld - hurrahh!!!
