Need help with allies/war

Ok, so here's my problem. Huge galaxy, Challenging, 8 civs to start with.

2 things happened in this game. First, the Drengin, who was at the other end of the Huge galaxy decided to conquer just about everybody. The first weird thing is that everybody would surrender to the drengin instead of surrending to anyone else. How do i prevent that?

Now, it's down Drengin ,me (arcean), Yor, Thalan. So, i was holding my ground against Drengin but even since the iconian surrendered to to them, they're sending all their forces against me and i can start seeing the tunnel at the end of which there is the light. Now, i'm allied with Thalan and Yor and i can't even ASK them to attack drengin. In the "declare war..." menu, drengin doesn't even appear!

what's going on?

I'm not sure, but I think if tribute has very recently been paid to maintain peace, that there is a time period that you can't ask them to go to war with them. That's my theory based on seeing those options vanish from the available options. I could be wrong. All I can suggest is try again every turn and remember you can 'try' to pay the Drengin to leave you alone or attack your friends in a pinch. Peace when they are leading is usually quite expensive however.

It's also depends on the relation of those civil with Drengin. If it's friendly,an option to atk Dregin wont be showed.

wow. friendly with drengin when they're covering half the galaxy by themselves... Some civs need to get some common sense in their heads.

i am sorry i do not agree i think of it as sweden with 10milion people would attack U.S.A with 2-300 million people. as jar jar would say ouch time:)

but attacking them before they are that powerfull, thats a other matter, (note i only play at begginner so i might be wrong if i am please correct me)
