Strange Stuff #2

Sorry bout the double post, put in the wrong forum first time.

So I was playing and the Korx just surrendered to me. That included a class 30 planet they had. So now I have it and its full of research and manufacturing plants. So I move my slider to 90% research to crank out some tech.

1) I hit the turn button a few times and liook at my money, it said -2987429822...(off the screen) but i had about 6000 last time i checked and made about 800 a turn.

2) Every time I click turn, the path of research I am on gets completed. ( i went from Mass Drivers III to Black Hole gun in 1 turn. I managed to win a tech victory two turns later.

3) All ship building was halted at this time as well.

4) Whatever building was in production on a planet was finished in 1 turn.

I left out many details, because i Saved the game and will send it to Stardock if they want it, just not sure which email and subject line i should use.

Please send your saved game to [email protected]. In your subject please put "Bug: Money Display Error" and in the body of the message provide a description of the problem.

Thank you.

Prozombe,

The game reports that it was saved in 1.1 Beta 4. If you haven't already, please update to the final version 1.1.
Try starting a new game with that version and see if this happens again.

In the meantime, I have a few questions about the save file you sent in.

First, did you save this game when your treasury was a crazy value, or before?
I ask because the treasury looks ok when I load it. I played for a while and I did get an Economic Boom event, but it didn't send the treasury into negatives.

Next, when you load this game in final version 1.1, does your money have a crazy value? If so, I'd recommend reinstalling the game to make sure you don't have any corrupt files.

Lastly, if this save is from before that problem happened, are there any steps I can do to try to reproduce the problem?
You mentioned every starport was not building anything, so I've tried that. Maybe there's something else?

It will be a few hours before i can get that data to you CodeCritter. I'm at work and have that game on the home computer.

oh and by the way, This level of feedback is astonishing, in a real good way. You guys at Stardock are a breath of fresh air, for some of us here living in the current 'smog' that is giant video game companies . Thanks.

I answered your questions below. I think the problem was I started the game in version 1.1.beta4 but continued after I updated to 1.1 full. I think in order to reproduce it, i would have had to saved it before the glitch happened.

I tried a new game and no problems whatsoever.

No, could not reproduce the glitch myself.

None that I can think of. just capture that class 30 planet in the bottom left of the map, is all i did.

it's a crapshoot but perhaps try giving that particular planet to another civ, declare war, and re-capture it. Perhaps it will reproduce the bug.
