I just reinstalled Gal Civ II so I can play it while waiting for the e-mail activating V 1.1 for me.

While I had no problems before (aside from the occasional CTD which I'm pretty sure was a product of my video drivers), now I have absolutely no text in any of the game buttons. For example, the opening menu has all of the nice grey buttons with the options, but no text in any of them...

Has this happened to anyone else? Will the 1.1 update fix this when I reinstall it?

Some persons had the problem in the beta 4, after a reboot it was resolved for nearly everyone.

The same thing happened to me when i changed an icon set on iconpackager, i reset the changes and the ingame text was back.
