Neutral Weapons and Defenses?

what are they?

The manual said that neutral alignment would get you extra weapons and defenses. Are they implemented? I can't quite figure out what they are supposed to be.

you know, I've never looked for them. I do know the Neutral learning center is the most powerful research building in the game, but haven't even thought about the weapons, etc.

And if you build the NLCs make sure you do it early to get all the benefit. They only give 2 flasks more than a discovery sphere but the NLC is about 6 techs earlier in the tree :o)

They also help you get to a tech victory a damn sight faster.

Yeah, I love the NLCs, and the extra tiles early are quite useful as well. But I guess the neutral weapons and defenses were not implemented?

Too bad the local governor doesn't qutue upgrades of your existing science centers to the NLCs... you have to manually tell every planet, every square, to upgrade to an NLC.

Also, you sure that Neutral gives weapons? My understanding is that it gives morale boost, NLCs, and the neutral temple (which gives you a % of all tourism cash from all competing nations).

Well, the manual indicated that there are supposed to be extra weapons for neutral. Also, when you research Xeno Ethics, the alignment description suggests that Neutral gets more weapons and defenses as well.

There are no extra weapons and defenses for neutrals.

Come on, we get enough benifits as it is, and you know it The whole never needing terraforming tech, NLC's, trade, etc We pretty much rule.

I tend to agree that further goodies are not needed for neutral, on the other hand I would love to see all three get more(and more divergent) abilities, weapons, armor, structures, hell even starbase modules. The larger the difference between the three the more interesting the choice becomes.

It seems that while they are not there it also seems that it is fairly balanced. Good gets some major defensive bonuses and techs, Evil a lot of offensive tech/goodies and netuers get major planet/trade and learning boosts. Depending on your play style it seems to be some good choices.

I agree that they are balanced pretty well. I do not miss the absent Neutral weapons or defenses, because I can research to the highest tech levels in a third the time as it is. I always have bigger and better when the time comes to build my fleets.
