(Almost) No Text Shows Up After Update!

After I updated the game to v1.1, a lot of the text in the game was just gone. I didn't do any of the betas, and can't think why this would happen. It's persisted when I quit the game and started it up again. Is this happening to anyone else?
Here are a two screen shots to show what I mean:
This is the main menu, which is totally devoid of text, as is the load game dialogue. I haven't tried to start a new game, so I can't say what that's like.
This is a shot from a game I loaded. The game is basically impossible to play, given that I can't tell how powerful fleets are, or how much money I'm making, since the domestic screen (along with all the others) has almost all the text stripped out. The tooltips show up, but are just empty boxes.
