Here are some of the major new features:

  • New Option: No tech trading.

  • Computer AI *significantly* enhanced.

  • Unused Social Production now transferred automatically to military production rather than "wasted".

Quick question: will it cause grief if we still have a saved game in an earlier beta version? Thanks,

Excellent!!

Should I finish the game that i'm playing at the moment before I upgrade or is it safe to download now?

No copy paste allowed. Someone at Stardock make Frogboy retype the whole list again!

Obviously just kidding.

are you planning to fix the savegame issue with ship movement for 1.2 ? Link

and what about the number of turns left for social projects ?
Link

(if you are going to answer, the 1st is more critical from my point of view)
thanks for this feature full update anyway.

Long time no see.

Thank you guys for that final patch. Must have been said.

Great news for all non-english version gamers:
The game keeps the installed primary language (at least for german I can guarantee)

I still miss the function from GCI to launch ships out of orbit after construction (it was a handy candy), but okay maybe I have overseen it. Intro still plays no sound (what a pity ! ) but it´s not that important. Let´s have a look if the food and moral improvements are correctly tweaked now - and the strange behaviours after loading a previously saved game

Galactic Knight: You have missed it. It's in the civilization management section under governors. You can set up colony way points (which will auto launch from orbit after construction). I used it to great effect in building and launching hordes of constructors so they could be staged for a simultaneous influence starbase assault across the galaxy. There's a couple quirks that disappear once you've used it a little bit.

Enjoy.

In the full changelog:

+ NEW FEATURE: You can select a planet on the main map and then use Z and X keys to cycle through your planets

JOY!!!

@Skelton42:

That´s exactly what I meant. I used to "frickel" here and there for updating the starbases before, and that was kinda boring I can tell ! I love to micro-manage, but not for all gold...

Good hint !

Enjoy yourself.

Better support for modding (full-blown mod UI coming in v1.2).

This has to be a must have. Games like RTW, Oblvion, Civ 4 etc etc etc continue to do well due to their modding capability, imo.

Proof again Stardock is WAY above the rest.

It's one thing to say its moddable, have at it. Making it easier to mod in things is great.

Said it before and will repeat it again:

You folks ROCK! Plz go out and have a beer and/or favorite beverage on us .

Now to see how many new ways the AI can hand me my backside since it sounds like there are a couple of things in this version that haven't been in the betas.

Well, considering that they didn't make much effort to make modding easy pre-1.2 (ie, mod directory not working, for example. GC2's current modding abilities are a pretty far cry from most other games), I wouldn't really give them a pat on the back for this. It's more like them living up to their obligations when they said that the game was "moddable".

Way to go Dev Team! Three Cheers!!!

I am newcomer to GalCiv motivated in by personal recommends re Dev quality, openess and speed of updates. I bought GalCiv2 when it first came out. I have been watching with interest the full cycle of Bug fixes / features / exploit deletes etc etc. Very impressed, head and shoulders above other game software., certainly made a Stardock convert of me I am finding I am viewing other Stardock software with a different mindset now ....

A hearty Thank You to the dev team - its clear you have a deliberate strategy of close contact with your Gamers, listen to feedback, and produce excellent game software in short time frames.

I hope your Management Team are properly appreciative ......... they damn well should be !

Great news, great game - any update on when the meta recalc will happen now? The new scoring system is likely going to frustrate a few people when they see some of the huge v1.0 metaverse scores and compare them to what they just scored in v1.1

It's going to hit my scores badly, but the sooner it's done the better

Just finished downloading..... :crosses fingers:
