blowing up planets

Hi all.
Is it possible to blow up a planet? if no is it planned for future patches or can be modded?

It's not possible currently, I doubt that it is possible to mod it in and it's planned for the expansion pack.

Very cool! I know that in my role as all-powerful galactic emperor I often don't have time to mess with 4 new influence-planets per turn and would rather just destroy the poor, trusting souls that inhabit them.

Before I started playing this game, I was a pretty nice person. But now I'm just a ruthless, evil dictator. Oh well...
