New Music!

Pheww!

I was reading the full change log for 1.1 patch (in the journals section) and guess what! One of the changes is "+ New Music playing".
This is excellent because the old music caused me to have a headache after a few hours of playing and so I had to turn it off from the beginning, which was too bad! I just hope the new music is not as repetitive as the previous ones. (I realise that the old one will still be there).

Don't get me wrong, I love this game, I just don't like having headaches:)

Great news that is has got some new music

BTW: You don't have to bump your post for it to appear. There is a delay, at times, between a post being placed and it appearing in the forums.

there's also this : "+ Music playing tweaks"

Likely that`ll you`ll eventually get bored of this music too. There`s only so much they can do, save recording entire albums!

Just get your favourite CD and play exactly what you like in the background!

Well, I don't recall getting bored of the music in Command & Conquer, nor that of Total Annihilation. The GalCiv2 music just suffers from being rather bland.

Well it's not so much that I don't like the music, it's ok, rather it's very repetitve and seems to reset with each turn when you are at war. E.g. let's say I just started a war against another player. The war music starts..... I press the End turn and the music seems to start again from the beginning instead of continuing. I maybe overexaggerating it a bit but that's what it seems.

Maybe this music playing tweaks that whismerhills saw will fix this.

I realise that recording music is very expensive and takes a lot of time, especially when the development team is so small and doing a wonderful job with the rest of the game!

And yes when I turn off the ingame music I just listen to my mp3s while mopping up my enemies! (or they do!)

(edit:typo)

I've personally gotten to where I turn off the music, and have the Firefly soundtrack playing in the background. Wen things synvh up, t's really cool!

I think that each race should have its own background music... like the Dregien should get Raffie playing, while the Altarians should have something like G&R or Joy Division playing.... what do you think, sounds tracks for everyone???

Well - I write my own music, so..........

Yes race specific music would add a lot to the game. Like the race specific music you get in the diplomacy screen... Hmmm you got me into thought now!

I would like them to steal the music from Jumpgate, a truly horrible game with great space music.

Dregin with Raffi!!! I can imagine it now. The Dregin demand 1200 bc of tribute or they'll attack. While this is going on you can hear "Ring ring ring ring ring ring ring BANANA PHONE!!" playing in the background.

Wrong, just thought I'd mention.

I always have my own songs playing in the game, so when a war starts, I only have one song playing.

Dun dun dun dundundun dundundun
(It's the imperial march)
