Assert Error

My game crashes every time when attempting to bring up the main menu. I have updated all of my drivers & re-installed twice with no luck. Here's my debug file... Help, please!

There is a great diagnostic post in this thread by CariElf of Stardock with some great tips.

I'd suggest downloading and running SmartException and emailing the dumps to Stardock support.

Try matching the desktop resolution with the game resolution and see if that helps. The game is set to 1024x768 and your desktop is set to 1152x864.

That's more of an issue if the game is set to a higher res than the Windows desktop.

RaggaB, you have Award BIOS v6.00PG, that (base) BIOS is 5 years old (obviously yours would be newer, but may still not be the most recent available). You might want to go to the website of the manufacturer of your motherboard and look for a more recent BIOS, and then of course update your motherboard drivers to match.

Updating the BIOS is not something to be done lightly. If something goes wrong, your motherboard can become permanently unuseable. It's not something I'd just just because a certain game is crashing. For one thing, it's unlikely to solve the problem. BIOS updates are usually released to support new hardware or low-level OS features.
