Someone press the negative button on my taxes?

I was working on just buying things, and I got to around -235 bc. I then went in to the shipyard and made a new ship. I go back into the map, and my money is at -22354 bc! That's about where I started before I started buying things, but it had been in the positive. I don't have a debug.err or a save (the auto save happened the turn before). I just thought something was wrong and I decided to post it.

Did you upgrade an entire class of ship while you were in the shipyard? In recent versions, on the higher difficulties, theres no limit to the amount of money that can cost you. Previously, it wouldnt let you get more then 2000bc in debt.

I didn't upgrade a type of ship, I made a new one. I didn't actually buy any of the ships, just made a new one. Unless taking everything opff of a ship, completely rebuilding it, renaming it, and then seeing in the shipyard that they were two different ships still upgraded them. I don't even know how to just upgrade a style (and usually don't want to so I can use the older ships in later games). It was just kinda random.

well if you pressed upgrade it consideres it an upgraded version of the ship
but it shouldnt upgrade your ships automaticly and take tou the money.
