Question? Any known problems with XP SP1 ?

I'm curious now... Does anyone know if there are any problems with GC2 and Win XP SP1 ? Or is XP SP2 required?

Well, a lot of the machines that won't run the game were using SP1. I'm not sure if it required, however.

It doesn't appear to be required, but you can be sure that a lot of people will recommend that you have it (if not for GalCiv2, then just to help squash the bugs and security issues in SP1).

Yeah, get SP2 as soon as possible. I don't know of any real reason not to install it.

I beleive SP2 comes with a later version of DirextX. But you can also download that direct from MS update site.

SP2 also has much better dual monitor and dual processor support.

But other than those few things, I would not see any issues - the game should run on any OS since 98.

You can always download the Game Demo and try it to see.

Just wondering as long as its been out, why would anyone not want SP2 ?

My brother didn't have SP2 when he first bought and downloaded the game which had the result of lots of missing graphics. All problems disapeared when he downloaded SP2.
