When to stop espionage spending?

I've reached advanced spy level...

Hello, Just wondering if the foreign policy screen tells you "no further espionage spending needed" does it mean I can return spending to 0 or not to increase it over 33bc per week (at advanced spy level). Thanks

If the empire you are spying on does not have any techs you don't have then yes, set it to zero.

If they have techs you can leave it at some nominal level and you may steal a few of the techs.

As I understood it, you don't have to spend any money to steal techs. In fact, you don't recieve any benefit at all from spending money after that point. I could be wrong though I guess.

It will steal techs without continued money input. My understanding is that once you're at Advanced, there's no reason to continue spending money.

Thanks, it seemed a bit counterintuitive to stop spending money on espionage when reaching a high level of infiltration. I am glad to free up 100bc though We'll see.

Yes. Once you reach Advanced no need for money is needed.

Yes no more funds are required, but personally I feel it would add a bit more depth and strategy if you had to maintain a minimum level of espionage funding to maintain your current level.

In the manual, in the section on espionage, it also mentions spending to destablise governments. I haven't been able to find a slider for it anywhere. The Drath planets seemed to flip faster in one game I played with the espionage set to full, I didn't notice any difference with the Thalan or Korx though.

Destabilisation got removed.
