how to use smartex

help me to help you know my prblems plz....

hi, was advised on here to download and run smartex whilst playing galciv2.

i have done this but i have no clue as to where to go from here, any help on using smartex would be greatly appreciated...

ok well nuthin happens for me...plz excuse my dumbness but how do i add galciv2 or any prog for that matter to the configured list...i dont see any options...am i that dumb??

ps, i have had smartex running for the last 3 crashes i have suffered and it has not created a .cra or a .dmp in the directory specified..........

When you right-click on the SmartException icon in the system tray, and choose Configure from the list it opens up a window.

In the "Exceptions" tab, there is a list of crashes that have been recorded by Smart Exception. Do you see anything in this list?

If so, select the one that says "GALCIV2.EXE" and click on the "Email selected exception." This will create a zip file that you can then email to [email protected].

check the root dir on your drives. I find thats where mine end up.

ty for ur help guys but unfortunatly when i open the exceptions tab there is absolutley nuthin in there....i might try a reinstall of smartex to see if that helps...........when i forst download smartex should galciv appear in there automatically or do i need to do sum set work i dont know about.....and i will check the root dir now ty...

If you have uninstalled and reinstalled recently the list may be empty.

You don't have to configure the program to catch galciv2. All you need to do is install it and let it run while galciv2 is running.

Next time you get a crash, just click the Don't Send (or OK or Close) button and then check SmartException to see if anything has been added to that list. Please let us know what it catches ( or if it doesn't catch it ). Thank you.

dont know what was happining but i reinstalled smartex and its working....and im making good use of it...ty
