The thing about graphics is that when you're in space, it's difficult to do what you have in Doom or Half-Life which exist on the ground where there's terrain.

But in space, I'm not sure what could really be done.

When he says "I can't play online" I don't think he realises this isn't multiplayer. That and he's posted no useful information whatsoever, and is just flaming.

If you could HEAR stupidity, it would be similar to the sound of Regit typing on his keyboard. If you have a problem, then post a debug.err, and please, please NEVER speak english again. If it isn't your native language, then post in your native language. But, if you're saying "Got released overseas before here" I take it you're American. The odd thing is, I've met spanish people who speak more fluent english than you. That, and the graphics rule, so I honestly don't know what you took before playing the game.

You've done your work for today, go home, phone EA, and ask for your cheque.

EDITED When I realised he's probably a native speaker

Lol maybe we should flame him on how O.R.B or Hegemonia have way better graphics than Homeworld 1 OR 2.

PS: I like the GlaCiv2 graphics.

The graphics rule. Regit needs to go back to contemplating his feces.

If I could be level-headed for just a min...

The combat-zoom is probably the graphics he's having issue with, and with all due honor to those who point out his childishness and general lack of respect, those graphics are not better than HW1, HW2, etc. They're decent (although the analogy of bathtub bumper boats is a good one), they're not anything to get excited about.

It would be sweet, like way, way sweet, to see an excellent game such as GC2 have at the tactical level the accumen of an HW1, or even (and I'm just gripping the edge of my chair to hear the flames on this one) that of MoO3's tactical combat (and yes, there are so many bugs with it that it makes it DOA, but the actual attempt was there, and with all of the patches & user mods it does actually work in the end, to some significant effect).

GC2 is a very, very good TBS. One of my fav's at this point. And that's no small achievement. But when I play TW: Rise of Rome, for example, I see a strategy game that not as good as GC2 but still, pretty darn good, and a tactical level that blows the doors off of GC2. Not that this should be what GC2 is necessarily about - each developer / design has their own vision to explore. But as one not so humble player of strategy games of every ilk, that is the vision I pine for.

Funny that these sorts of stupid posts get so much of our collective 'attention'.

I'm still researching the Universal Translator so I can't understand all of the original post but -

1) Graphics : while no-one will say the graphics are breathing real. They are clean, crisp and not hard on the eyes to look at. This is probably someone who would have bashed Civ II because it's graphics were bad instead of seeing how good the game is. For me, the graphics could be X's and O's as long as the the goods are under the hood.

2) Upgrade your PC? Huh? I'm thankful that you don't have to upgrade your PC to play this game. In fact that is a plus since more people can play it.

3) Homeworld 1 - games were only fair. Not crisp polygons. At least if your going to bash use something newere like the Nexus Jupiter Incident (IG3) or something.

4) Bugs - every game has bugs. Do the bugs make the game unplayable? No. Are they being worked on? Yes (Of course, than new ones appear sometimes).

My scientists need to get back to work so I can read the rest of this email. Froggy, I wouldn't worry about this thread. Your not going to please everyone.

I see one great problem.

:look around:

Not enough graphics.... need more planet types, jewlery, ships types...

Why is it that forums are the only place on the plan that require you to research Universal Translators before dealing with some people.

I've got to agree with Frogboy on this one, the first thing I thought when I finished deciphering what he typed, was that most of his bugs are probably a result of his downloading a warez copy.

The irony is amazing, it's like a car thief coming back to chew out the owner for having a smashed window and broken ignition.

Graphics are great by the way, I love being able to zoom all the in on a ship I made, then zoom back out to see the whole galaxy.
