Missing Letters in Game

Often, when I load a saved game it will be missing letter's/numbers while playing the game. Example, GNN news reports a fighter built it will look something like so... (Underscore to represent the blank portion I see)

It is always consistant missing the same letters/numbers through out. Which makes the spending slider's a pain to use. If it isn't showing 5 that day, anything that is 50-59% will look like _0-_9%.

Since you are using the 'beta' to play the game you might want to update to the latest one, version 1.1 beta 4b.
Not sure if it will help your problem but the latest beta did fix a lot of bugs. There might be a problem with loading older saved games when you install the latest beta patch. In fact this was in the readme from the lats patch, the one that you are using...
+ Saved game and load game format changed to support new features.

I've seen that occasionally too. I'm not sure if it's in the latest version or not. Perhaps it was fixed, but an annoying bug for sure.

Have the exact same problem since upgrading the video driver, using a 9600pro. I originally installed the game using catalyst 4.12 drivers(from 2004 pre dx9c) and it worked fine though the game the 1st time said my driver wasn't 9c compatible but no problems. When I decided to try the betas I ugraded the driver(using omegas) to see what would happen.

My assumption is the game when installed compensated for the fonts because of the old driver and with the new driver installed this causes a problem. I plan on reinstalling the game once the final 1.1 is released to see if this corrects the problem and deleting all old saves. Failing that I'll go back to the 4.12 drivers and reinstall the game. The 9600 is an old card so it is also possible the new drivers just don't support it very well (when playing civ4 I tried about 8 different drivers before settling on the 4.12 as being the most reliable).

Note some people recommended installing the game fonts into windows but this didn't work for me and the other solution recommended was increasing page file if too small but yours is more than large enough

Mine gives me the same problem, but occasionally, instead of blanks, it gives symbols/numbers to replace letters and letters to replace numbers (ex. Invasion, end soldier count is A to AEE). I also have a flickering effect with the stars, and occassionally the textures for planets or stars will start to look like TV static (not animated). I dunno if yours (Citizen VillageBC) does that too, but it sounds like it at least does part.
