Turning off "go to next ship"

Please, please, please.

Turn off the "feature" that automatically highlights the next ship that isnt on guard etc after you move one.

Nothing more annoying then moving a ship on the other side of the map w/o realizing it.

As a secondary - is there a way to "go to" a ship that is targeted, but you dont know where it is on the map? (highlight circle sometimes is a bit dim) - ie double click/ctrl etc? - maybe im blind but cant find it.

Add a link to the upgrade screen when in ship Detail mode as well please - the fleet manager helps, but we are still moving one ship out of the fleet just to see the upgrade screen.

I think you could press C to center the selected ship/fleet. As for the "go to next ship" feature, I have to say that I hate it plainly and simple. Yet, it doesnt even make it into 4 beta (prolly wont be in 1.1).

Seems like it would be an easy addition just to turn that "feature" off - absolutely drives me bonkers as thats what the find button or tab is for.

and yes - c is the key, ill be durned if i didnt blip right over it under keybindings

I've been asking for the ability to toggle that option too. I also thought the find button would be better suited to 'find next ship' rather than center on one you've chosen which you pretty much always know where it is anyway since you click on it or it auto centers...

I'm know plenty of people have pointed out how hard it is to control fleets and stacked ships. It's even in the reviews of the game I've read. I'm sure they'll address it when / if they can.

Aye, have seen a few posts about it, just not recently., refering to the "go to next ship" feature.

as for upgrading, just would be more intuitive to click on detail, then from there have an upgrade button available right there in details.

more i play, the more i hate the go to next ship auto focus

Yeah, the "goto next ship" thing is frustrating. Just because a ship is out of moves, doesn't mean I'm ready to jump to the next ship half-way across the galaxy. If it were a button, instead of something automatic, I'd be much, much happier.

AGREED! Hate it because maybe I'm focusing on one spot in a 1000 star galaxy and BLIP! it takes me 100 light years across the map. ARGHHHHH! It can be tough to find where you were sometimes.

It's really odd that no one from Stardock has ever said a single word about this, considering how quick they are to respond to other gripes/problems/questions. Dozens upon dozens of gripes about this one feature and zero response.

As far as I'm concerned, this design flaw is a much larger hindrance to game play than any bug I've ever encountered. If I could exchange it for the game crashing every dozen turns like clockwork, it would be easier to play and slightly less annoying.

I think the way to fix this would be that it snaps to a ship/fleet ONLY if that unit is on guard/sentry duty and it spots someone else. Otherwise, I'd like to be left alone so I can play the game, not fight with it every turn.

Yeah, it's struck me that other UI options have been added or tweaked since launch, and yet this isn't getting any attention. It's an annoying function that is arguably based on a bad idea and there's already a button to go to the next ship anyway. I see it as a worthless-yet-frustrating feature, and I'm not alone.

Agree. This and the "each ships moves one after the other" are reeeeaaaallllyyy annoying the netherworld out of me.

Please, change it. Please. Pretty, pretty, please.

I've also accidentally moved ships I didn't intend to when I've tried to correct the moving ships course. It'll be moving, the fog will roll back and I'll see something I want to blow up and as I click on it the ship runs out of movement and now some ship halfway across the map is randomly flying around

You think that's bad, wait until it causes you to order a fast troop ship to attack an enemy battleship, instead of the order going to the ship that was SUPPOSED to be selected. I've done it more than once.

Christ, somebody mentioned the 'unfleeted ships move one at a time' thing! My GOD that's annoying. I'll just twiddle my thumbs while I watch the same move animation a dozen times... wheee....

I agree that such an option would be nice.

Yes. I love what they did with 1.1, so this is now perhaps my biggest gripe with the game. Well, it's in the top three.

This 'feature' is annoying the hell out of me already and I only got the game today!

Hopefully 1.2 will be as UI focused as 1.1 was AI focused - there's a laundry-list of changes requested in various threads, and one patch could fix them all.
