Banking center bug still in 1.1

When you tweeked the Planet improvments, you missed the Banking Center.

Trade Center = cost 90 and +20% Economy.
Banking Center = cost 250 and +24% Economy.
Stock Market = cost 150 and +30% Economy +others.

You reduced the cost of both the lower model and higher Model but did not change the Banking Center, I don't think you intended that it should cost more than the higher level building.

Hey, good catch. Bumping so they'll notice and correct this.

P.S. Does this making upgrading to stock markets instant, because they cost less than the previous building?

Sorry for the off-topic, but how do you get your medals and stuff to show up on your post?

Metalkid, go to Metaverse and from the top menu bar, select Accoutns and the submenu Edit My Characters. When your character(s) show up, select the default button to the right of it. And that will do it. Simple as that.

The Banking Center should probably cost 120 or something.

It should probably be 120 cost, and 25% from the pattern (but it has been 24% since forever). I bet the people at Stardock are like me, they probably skipped banking center by researching a factory tech before hand, and then went with banking and stock exchange back-to-back, so you basically end up upgrading all your trade centers directly into stock exchanges (the time it takes to upgrade all the factories should be enough to research to stock exchanges).

If this is fixed in the files by the user will it flag the metaverse game as cheating?
metaverse uses a custom set of files to prevent cheating I read somewhere
but I guess if you somehow manage you MAY get flagged as cheat
if the cheat engine is good enough

Why is this a bug?

Having newer improvements that cost less and do more is a staple of strategy games.

People have got to quit labeling every design choice SD makes that they don't agree with as a "bug".

You have to be joking!

Read that first post again, and actually look at the stats.

This is the ONLY one out of place all other buildings follow a predicatable patern.
Take a look at this chart:

Then come back and tell me I am calling a design desision a bug.
I have done my research please back up your oppion with some facts.

It is entirely possible this is a typo. There are a few things in the XML files that seem to have been added or changed after other things were put in. If memory serves the econ buildings are not together in the file though I'd have to look again to verify that. But honestly I think I'm with Kalin on this one too since I usually skip right over the banks and get the stock markets because at that point in the game they are only one or two weeks for me to research. In fact the whole econ branch is so short that I sometimes rush to stock markets in nothing else is pressing as in I don't need weapons or defense for a war . And we all know wars are won or lost because of money not ships .

My understanding of the metaverse is that you cannot modify the metaverse files in anyway. This forces everyone to play the same game. Honestly though I've never bothered to try .

It is an oversite that was only made starting in the latest beta. MOst of the PLanetary improvments were changed regarding cost, and both the building on either side of the Banking Center had their costs reduced sigificantly, the Banking Ceter's costs remained the same, whch means it is now significantly more than the later building.

So It is not a huge deal for the player once they realize the problem, they can just avoid upgrading to Banking Center, although it can be a pain to go around cancelling all the auto updates on all the planets. That is what I do and then just research The stock exchange tech right after I get the Banking Center one.

The problem comes in with the AI who does not know about the problem and does not therefore work around it.

Castellon is right, this is a bigger disadvantage for the computer than a human, since once we know about it we just know we have to go straight to stock markets. The computer doesn't know that.
