Altarian Republic Evil

These are supposed to be the good race, but they are always the ones that keep picking on other nations and are turly brutal. I personnally find that the Dominion of Korx are a very trustworthy race, probably the most so. The Alterian Republic also go iradicating all the minor races for easy kills. Not to mention, they seem to have a grudge on me however much I am nice to them and go after my head Whats your exsperiances with these guys?

Are they truly EVIL as in their alignment or are you saying they're evil just because they are attacking other races?

I've noticed this too, they seem to have this 'convert the heathens' attitude towards those who are not of the good alignment. Best bet is to beat the crap out of them when they get around to you, and either finish them off or let them go. I've noticed that you only have to beat them once and then give them peace and they should leave you alone, assuming that you aren't allied with someone else that they're going to attack

They are "good" in the sense of if your one of us you arent going to get killed. You know, the kind of "good" that usually results in a huge number of deaths in the name of some ideal or another.

I have found the Altarians to be a very weak race that rarely attacks anyone. Maybe they don't attack me because I am always neutral, but I have never seen them attack anyone before - or at least I have never seen them winning any wars against anyone.

Maybe its a result of the tweaking to diplomacy - diplomacy now gives a bonus to your relations with other races.

Since the Drengin typically do not research diplomatic techs (or at least, not very much), they would tend to be most effected by this change.

Oh ya, your right, those guys are downright EVIL. It doesnt matter if Im good or bad, they start wars on me every game. On maxed AI, they reasurch pretty damn fast too. I actually like the drengi more They are just as bad but at least their tech is always lacking.
