are you sure that the game was the reasong you card was fried? you didnt overclock the card or anything? no powersurges?

Software is not going to kill a properly cooled video card unless it somehow forced the card to overclock itself or overwrote its firmware.

Blame it on the rain, yeah yeah.

Im Running on an even older FX5500 256 mb, and its working fine, but i have alittle problem with the fan, it tend to get stuck with dust... i live in Cordoba, (Spaniard desertic plains) so  there is plenty of dust in the air,  nothing some cleaning can fix  also lubrication to the fan once in a while... thats maybe the problem...   on the other hand check your mother board's bios  maybe it is giving more voltage than a common Video Card can handle, Typical AGP cards run on 1.5 Volts check that.

Hear any noises before? Something kinda chunky? That would be your card dying.

perhaps you should try pouring some maple syrup onto the motherboard.

LOL....I'm still truckin along on my Ti 4200 and the game runs beautifully, and I haven't heard any others with dying cards....so it sounds like you have a screwed up system or your card had the misfortune of dying at that time. There is a word called 'coincident' for a reason.

mine is 5200 fx gforce and while it barely handles it, doenst fry

You didn't update the game. The game as release caused massive overheating because of the options enabled. If you didn't, it's your fault for not getting the patch which fixed this. No-one should pay for your card if you don't look after it properly.

6200? so last generation's low end! time to upgrade! that's what GC2 is telling you.

edit: 6200's are running like $60 right now, and that's the 256MB version, not the LE TC ones that only have 128MB and use system memory to boost that... which are PCIE anyway, so probably not your thing.

here: Link, even less with rebates: Link

i also note that most of the 6200s i'm seeing have passive cooling, rather than a fan. what's the cooling environment in your case like? i can imagine that a budget card with passive cooling might get into serious trouble with GC2, if there wasn't good airflow...

anyway, maybe we can put together a paypal collection and get 240 players to chip in a quarter each? i'd pay a quarter, just for the humor value!

edit edit: same basic price range, on the red-team side of your equation: Link

What he prolly did was download some tweak drivers from a driver tweak site for his video cards and there default over clocking destroyed his cards...his fault.

Heres a good list of drivers you should setup first or not even install if you don't know what your doing.

Pedxing, I would chip in, but the sheer fact he thinks someone owes him a video card makes me inclined to laugh, so I don't need the humor

Check the the number of amps on the 12 volt bus of your power supply versus the requirements of the video card. I had this problem myself. You might need to upgrade your power supply.
