Impossible to demolish any Starports.

After installing the newest patch and making a new game, i am unable to demolish any Starports. I am unsure if this is a bug or if its intended?

In beta 4a, a flag was added to starports called "indestructable", so I'm guessing it is intentional, though I'm not sure why its desirable.

So long as the AI stops building 3 starports on Class 4 planets, it shouldn't be a problem. Yet still, I'd prefer to demolish them on said low-class planets, because they'd take half a year to get one decent ship out. I find that it's better to spend a bit of money on a farm and two research facilities.

I guess you could try the "destroy colony" button, and have your own colony ship nearby to get it re-started.

That sucks. I like destroying starports on low PQ planets too.

what? I'm still demolishing my starports and I have the new beta

I also usually demolish starports on conquered low-pq planets.
Bug or feature, I would really like to be able to do that again so that I'm not wasting a tile.

Morberis, is that with a new game, or a game started before 4A? The building definitions are part of the saved game, so this change is probably only affecting new games.

Ya I noticed this too... not really sure what the reasoning was- maybe it was to prevent the bug that occurs when you cancel the starport while something is in the queue, thus causing the colony management screen to eternally show one colony as building whatever was in the queue in the time.

I'm having the same problem. For the record I definitely started this game after installing 4A? Sort of annoying since the AI raided a few of my small planets and when I took them back they all had permanent starbases on them. Oh well, it will make conquering those buggers that much more satisfying . . .
