Yet Another Crash - (Latest Beta) - same old problem?

I've had the game crash in similar circumstances now for quite a while - especially with the beta's... I've posted here about it before - I would have posted the smart exception readout - but I haven't installed it yet - (had to restore the comp after the logitech sotware I got with the webcam my girlfriend sent me completely screwed windows up)...

I'll stick some of the debug file here - (is pretty long - was playing for a while) - but the message near the end ALWAYS appears when it's crashed before - and has done so again... It's probably a symptom rather than the cause - but I don't know if it will help?

The line which has ALWAYS appeared every time it's crashed like this for me - is:

Dunno if it's got anything to do with it though?

Have you tried more recent drivers for your card?

As the other person has suggested popping over to

http://www.ati.com

and get the latest drivers for your graphics card which might help, yours are quite old being dated 12.1.2004.

You might want to see if you can get some newer drivers for your sound device as well.....9/16/2002 is very old for those.

Maybe here could be a start for your search for new audio drivers.....

http://www.avance.com/

Can't help with the specific line of txt that you quote though.

Install SmartException, its in SDC as well (under free stuff) so should only take you a couple of mouse clicks to get it going.

This would help more than the debug.err

I had a lot of CTDs too, before I turned off autosave.

I'm running a Radeon 9800 Pro as well and had a lot of CTD's before switching to the Feb 2006 drivers.

I still get the rare CTD these days, but not even close to what was happening before I updated my video driver.

The only reason I'm still running the old drivers is because I've just restored the system - I was still getting the same problems before though - even with newer drivers etc. - (in fact I got problems with a couple of other games with different drivers too :-/ ).

I've always had very few crashes - but it's always been in the same circumstances, I know I could turn off autosave - but if I did that - I'd forget to save it at all

Oh - and I know about smart exception - I just haven't got round to re-installing it and other stuff yet...
