Crashing after five to six hours of play

Here's the problem: GalCiv2 seemed to run fine straight out of the box. I'd been playing it on and off for about six hours in total, without encountering any bugs or major issues. A few hours ago GalCiv2 CTD'd while loading an autosave, and it's been crashing randomly ever since. Each crash generates a standard Microsoft error dialog.

Here's the debug file. If anyone out there can shed some light on what's happening, I'd sure appreciate it. I was just about to get my hands on massive hull tech...

Update the game. It had crash issues out of the box, and these are gone by 1.0x

But make sure it isn't the beta you update to.

Sounds like the GPU over-heating. You need to upgrade to v1.0x and ensure the "Throttle GPU" option is enabled.

Fellow GC2 fans. I have a very old Dell Dimension 733, 512 memory , ATI9600 256 memory card running windows 98SE. From the first day I played, right from the box, I never had one problem with this game and I'm even using the max graphics 1600x1200 which is my CRT's limit. I've updated to the most recent beta and still never had a problem. I've played for several hours at several different times and still not a single problem. I do security updates, run my maintenance program, defrag weekly, viris scan and keep up with every Microsoft update. If someones having a problem running GC2 I tend to think its the gamers rig thats most likely the problem. If you tend to "surf", blogg, download, file share, visit dicey sites etc, you must also work at keeping your computer healthy because there's alot of crap in cyberspace and that stuff sure can clog up yer pipes. So as far as I can tell this game is clean, can you say the same for your computer.
