Minor Races?

When I first started playing I saw minor races appearing as I explored now after the last couple patches they dont appear now matter what I have set on/off tech tradings I can turn on off but the races button seems to be stuck on off.

Any suggestions?

Sometimes they just don't appear as frequently as other times. I have had them appear in all patch levels. Some games I see one, some games I see several at different points in the game, some games I have not seen them at all.

I've seen different amounts too. Some games only one or two, others, seven or eight. And often times on the longer games they appear all throughout the game. If there are any planets that haven't been colonized they will colonize the planet.

I read your suggestions and tied about 6 restarts and you guys where right they do appear just not as often thanks for the tip and good gaming

Thay changed the minor races in one patch so they dont appear as often as they were ( i remember every time i played a large+ gal they were 6-8) now on medium maps youll never get more han 1 minor ... but i think its ok becouse they always grab my resources

I have noticed they very seldom do a doggon thing anymore. They just sit on their single planet and wait to be taken over by someone. They are boring now. I had a few early games where they were colonizing and building up their own military. Not anymore, it seems.

I'm in a game where I'm noticing the same thing. They are filling up their starport with scouts and constructors and not sending them anywhere. I'm more than happy to send a couple fighters to cull out the mess so my transports can have a field day. Problem is, I just took my third minor race and there's at least 3 more (gigantic map), but the main races aren't paying them any attention and simply leaving the minor planets for me to gobble up. Granted, I am playing on Normal, but I would still expect the AI's to try and conquer the minor races since this game was set for a very few habitable planets.

I dunno, they seem to be building starbases and having a military to fight with to me. Last night the Aiklians? Were building starbases and one of them little buggers of a minor race was picking fights in another game while I was doing a flyby with invasion troops for the Drengin worlds in the next sector.

Hehe... In my current game, I destroyed a mining starbase belonging to the Dark Yor. I only wanted the military recource that they were mining, and of course this began a war with the Dark Yor. After a few turns I offered them a peace treaty, in exchange for a peace treaty from them, their only planet, Dark Yor III, and all of their money. They accepted and that was the end of the Dark Yor.
