Can't register on Stardock Central

Hi all,
First of all, thanks Brad for probably getting me fired from my job with this excellent game!
I have what is probably a stupid question that's already explained elsewhere, but I can't seem to find the cure. I've registered my copy of GalCiv2 on this site, and also created a user account on Stardock Central with the same email address. However, when I try to register my copy of the game on Stardock Central so I can download the beta, it tells me my serial number is invalid. I've double checked the serial countless times, but I always get the same error.
I purchased a boxed set of the game at retail, if that is relevant to the problem. (Didn't know about Stardock.net at the time!)
Any help much appreciated!
