Approval intervals

If your approval rating reaches
100%, your population growth is doubled. If your approval
rate falls below 30%, your population growth will stop. Your
population can decrease if your approval rating goes low enough.
Your population will also decrease if you can’t provide 1 mt/wk of
food for every million citizens.

So, there is a break point at 100% and at 30%. Are there others?

In the betas you get a +25% pop growth rate for morale higher than 75%. Pop growth is also one of the factors in the pop growth formula.

So, that's it? 30%, 75% and 100%?

I would hope it's on some sort of linear scale, not just a few break points.

I agree. Else, it requires too much boring micromanagement.

If you say so, but I don't bother stress that I'm not 75% + at all times. Hell above 48 is good enough for me.

The way it is described in the posts it sounds like this:

<30% stops growth and potential negative growth
30% < 75% is normal growth
75% < 100% adds 25% to growth
100% adds 100% to growth (in effect doubling whatever your racial bonus is if any)

I haven't seen anything else posted to lead me to believe it is some sort of linear progression.

I'd really like somebody to throw up some numbers they're positive are correct. It's really quite essential knowing whether it's important to keep happiness above a certain level. Are there no break points between 30 and 75%?

Go to the wiki site, it has all the knowledge answering pretty much all the posts you've made (galciv bashing aside)

Not for pop growth, as far as I know. But if you switch to one of the more advanced governments, you need to keep your approval high enough to make sure your party wins each election. I'm not sure quite what you need - a simple majority (51%+) or some other figure.

Personally, I just try to make sure that the majority of my worlds are at 75%+ approval. I don't find that takes much micromanagement, although your mileage may of course vary (personally I don't mind micromanagement too much - I like to make the decisions, rather than let an AI routine make them for me. )
