No destabilization slider

(I hope I chose the right subforum)
Well, I guess the topic title says it all:When I click on the Foreign Policy Screen/Relations, I only have an Espionage slider, but no Destabiliztion slider. My game version is1.0X.010. Anyone having a clue what might be the cause for this, or has destabilization been removed, although being mentioned in the manual on page 37?
Thanks in advance =]

Removed as it was too wimpy. (Brad's words)

Manual was out of date on day 1, because it was printed early. But in the expansion, we get agents! woo. Who needs destabilisation anyway?

Ah thanks for the quick reply =] .
But if I am not mistaken the AI still can destabilize, can't it?Because although having no taxes and not being in debts my peoples approval is going down all the time X(

Edit:And my planets are all class 10+ with Entertainment Networks built on them

Population density will also reduce approval/morale.

You can hover your pointer over your morale percentage on the planetary detail screen to see what is dragging it down.

The AI can't destabilize, no. It's likely you've just got over-high population. It's very hard to maintain high morale if you have more than a farm or so on a world. A lot of people recommend not building farms at all in fact, just to keep morale up. Myself I think they're useful (more taxable population, more soldiers in war), but you do need to work hard to keep the people happy. Research the entertainment techs, they make a big difference.

OH...well on my planets with the least approval im having like 10 farms...well ok then I know now the cause!Thank you very much, it was always a bit disheartening to see my planets rebel although I was not taxing them etc.

And I'd add that if you do choose to use farms, make sure to NOT put them on the bonus tiles! Its very hard to keep even 11B peeps happy, let alone 17-25B! Its doable, if you just want a mega-tax planet with 50% or more virtual reality centers, but IMO that real-estate is better spent on labs or factories (settling on 1 farm if PQ >= 12, or maybe 2 farms if PQ >= 20).

In the end, the people generate taxes & troops, but cost a lot ot keep happy. Only you can decide what works for your style of play.

Nah, I like 100 billion people. It tops off at 27 billion, they can't get more unhappy through people. That's 8 grade farms, and 8 entertainment centers, 2 factories, and 5 stock exchanges (for a pq 23). It'll stay at 100% if you have bonuses to morale, abd stock exchanges have a bonus, as do researching morale techs. After that, the planet is totally unconquerable.

so is destabilisation the espionage slider?
No, there is no destabilisation. And you really should upgrade to 1.ox, it has new features, is more fun, and less bugs.

Production and Research can be assisted by economic space stations. Which allows (IMHO) you to use your planets for more people and less as much for production etc.

Any planet 10 or higher that doesnt have at least 1 farm and 1 morale booster is wasted tax dollars. On a 15 planet I put 2 farms and 3 morale boosters. A class 21 for me has 3 farms and 5 morale boosters and TON's of stock markets.

My taxes are usually in the 50% area. I'll move taxes here and there as trade profits permit. With proper population you can be at war with everyone (I play 9 ai's) at the same time and still have a positive cash flow, with a large enough population.

Population = Credits. Military, Social and Research = spending. Use space stations to boost MSR and get more people.

Also, dont forget to turn social off if you have no or few planets building social projects. Thats a huge drain on your finacial resources even when no one's actually building. Turn it to zero and split the rest however you choose. You can turn Social to zero in the main finance window then go to a planet and click the lil icon up in the social window to make it go over time on that planet and you get some social building on just that planet. Will save you a ton of money if you just have one or two planets still building social stuff.

Anyhow, I'm rambling now and need to hook up my caffeine I.V. now.
