Ai builds multiple starports on planets

...Is there a reason for doing that or is the AI bugged?

Also, I saw a planet where two economic capitals had been built. Isn't that impossible? Can't you only have one of each type of capital?

I've seen this as well. It seems they can build multiples of whatever on land not yet available. I had a planet flip to my side and they had 3 starports building on it. I deleted 2 of them and saw they were being built on tiles unavailable til habitat impovement or something.

It's just the Torians right? I put a check in the latest beta.  It got introduced in the 1.1 betas.

I took over a planet today that had two starports when I got it.

Whats wierder is after I deleted it, from the galaxy screen, the planet said that I had NO starport... and yet there I was 14 days away from a constructor. I had been playing the game for 10 hours or so straight and thought that I was going crazy for a moment there.

And it wasnt the Torians, it was the Iconians. Although, it may have been planet that the Torians had made, and the Iconians just took over.

I don't think it is just limited to the Torians, Frog. I had several planets defect to me from both the Yor and Iconian's and they either had 2-3 starports on unavailable tiles or multiple 'Capitals'

It's not just the Torians - I had the same problem when I conquered some Drath Legion and Thalan planets in the current beta. None of the planets had previously been owned by another race.

I've seen the extra tiles be composed of starports as well as the defense buildings that group the orbiting ships into a fleet.

I have had two starports show up after taking a planet too.

The strangest thing, though, happened just yesterday. In a new game, just after colonizing my third or fourth planet, I lost the starport on my own homeworld. It simply vanished and the starport icon was back in the building list. So I actually had to build a starport on my homeworld. Rebuild, that is.

This happened to me last night in a Beta3 game I am playing. The 2nd starport was in the process of being upgraded to an economical improvement.
