[BETA Report] Building bug in action

This shows the planet after I had taken it over via culture. As you can see the AI apparently built an Embassy on a yellow tile. I'm the one that upgraded it with the soil enhancement however from the screen you can see that was the only thing the game would allow me to do. It would not let me demolish the building. Also you can see that in the build queue it says it is upgrading the Embassy using the Soil Enhancement. I have no idea if the building was there before I took over the planet or if something went screwy after I took control. EDIT: Forgot to mention this is the latest version of the BETA Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

You might want to convert that image into a .jpg file or something. Using .bmp in a post is just horrible for people who don't have broadband, and a waste of bandwidth for those that do.

I believe the planet came from the Drath. However the region of space that it is in was where the Terrans used to be and they were at war with both the Iconians and the Drath at one point so it may have changed hands. All I know for certain is it was not a planet that I got from the Terrans when they surrendered to me. It came after I got the influence boost from the Terran planets.

Korx, Drath, and Yor had this problem for me too. Also it did something similar with multiple starbases.

If the Drath choose the Neutral alignment, then they get the effects of the terraforming techs without having to actually research or build them. Which means that they can build on squares that, to others, are unbuildable.

In theory, if you take one of these worlds, then you will see a building on unusable land.

In theory yes, that would be the case, except in practice the AI would probably rather research Technological Victory before Xeno Ethics (okay, so that's a little extreme, but it's about right).

You know that may very well be what occured. I'm aligned with good in the game and I do believe the Drath are neutral. I tend to trade Xeno Ethics to everyone to force them to choose. So you are absolutely correct that they could have built on that square but I can't. And when I took over the planet the tile was still flagged as yellow. Interesting. Not really sure what the solution to that would be but my guess is this has been there a while then.

I got this same bug from virtually every race I conquered in my last game. That includes Altarians, Arceans, and Iconians, though I might be mistaken on the Altarians (they had only one or two planets to take).
