Registering/validating product authenticity off-line

I bought gal civ II and i love it its a great game, but i had to install it on my computer that doesnt have internet, on hearing that there is a ptach i download it and place it on my offline computer, then i get a dialog box saying that i need to validate/register my copy of my game which i can't do becasue i don;t have the internet, is there a way i can play the game or is re-installing and deleting the patch my only option?

You should be able to play the game just fine without registering your copy via online connection. However, you can't play BETA patches without online conection. Right now, 1.0x is the only official release patch available.

But apparently you do have to activate the product in order to use the official patches, even if downloaded from galciv2.com. Take a look at the link Peace Phoenix gave, which shows you how to activate GalCiv2 by sending information to [email protected].
