civ's that are overwon

i invaded several former planets from the torians. they where first conquered by the altarians. i got into war with the altarians and then i won the former torians planets. isn't it possible to give the planets their freedom back??I mean, isn't it possible - when a civ is conquered and when it has dissapear from the game-the get a civ back into the game??

It might seem like a nice idea, however, it's not present in the game. When you invade a planet EVERYONE comes out to fight the invading force...so by taking planets you successfully commit genocide against the resident population. In your game, the Torians are extinct, and thus you can't "liberate" them.

Although, civilizations can surrender to other civilizations, effectively giving the entire population of the remaining planets over to the new civilization. So you only kill them off via genocide if you invade all of their planets. At some point, after they lose enough planets, they just surrender, and they even say something like "our only hope for survival is your mercy" or something like that.

That would be cool if the civs that surrendered could reappear, as a minor race if not a major one. Just from the planets that they were on last.

It would be a nice option for an expansion pack. If you recapture an allies homeworld, all the refugees could return and build anew.

okay, lets all ask paradox to do this for us
i used to play birth of the federation and this option ossibility is available in that game. I still own the original copy of botf and its worth a lot of money on ebay .

and the biggest map should be larger; its not big enough for me because the civs are all to near and thats not realistic.
