Difference in GalCiv 2 normal, Collector's edition and limited edition?

Like the title says I'm wondering what is the difference between these three? I want to buy the game and want to know which would best suit my wants.

None really. Collectors is special, and they have a different metallic box and a tech tree. All the game component extras were released free I think. Makes no difference at all, most places only have collectors.

There's just the Collectors Edition and the normal version; there is no limited edition.

The Collectors Edition comes in a silver box (or metallic DVD-type case if you're in Europe) and includes a fold-out tech tree, additional ship pieces & jewelry to make your ships look pretty, and a couple other "extras" (GC2 desktop, GC2-style skin, etc.). Aside from that, both versions of the game are identical.

Almost none of the stores in my area have the game at all, to this DATE! I did mangage to get lucky and get one of the only 2 copies (at compusa) in my area. Im not sure if they were the only two copies, but still there are rediculously few here. In south texas BTW. way south

After having already been stung by using my credit card on the net, I just refuse to do it now. (A sting of 3000 pounds, fortunatly I did sort it out ok)

Living in the Philippines means that gettting GC2 was tricky. Thank God for freinds overseas who got it for me.

Thanks for all the replies. The type of box doesn't matter in the slightest too me. The extras would be ok but not worth paying more. Limited edition is mentioned on ebay that's why I asked about it. I've just been taken a couple of times on ebay and I'm tired of it. I'll probably order direct from stardock because I'm not finding it anywhere near me in stores.

The CE isn't more expensive than the regular version, it's just that there's only a limited number of them. Most places carry either one version or the other, but the CE is still the same price. (At least that's what I've been seeing so far.)

Off topic but a useful tip: Get a second or separate checking account with no overdraft protection (this is important). Stick a couple hundred in there and then get a Visa or MC debit card for it. Use this card strictly for online purchasing.

All the convenience of a credit card with minimal risk if the number gets compromised.

Some credit card companies (Citibank is the one I know about) have the ability to generate one-use virtual credit cards numbers specifically for this purpose. You can even configure a dollar limit and the time period it should be active.
