Video sequences crashing

Really, really annoying.

Okay, I know it doesn't affect the game in any huge way, I was just wondering if anyone else has had the problem whereby the game videos simply stop. For example, even though I have started up the game several times, I have only been able to enjoy the opening clip fully once. Every other time, it will stop part way through. What reall confuses me as that the sounds of the clip will continue, but the picture won't. Same thing happens with clips in sandbox games, like when you first invade a planet. I have never seen that clip, keeps stopping like above and victory clips.



Can anyone help?

I have noticed the same exact issue. This only occurs with the latest BETA build...all my drivers and stuff are current and all that--been playing the game just fine until I just downloaded the new build. I also noticed that my game took a MASSIVE performance hit in general with the new BETA. All my other games are running fine.

Computer Stats:

2040 GB of DDR RAM
256 MB nVidia GeForce 6200SE
Pentium D 9 Dual Core Processor 2.8 Ghz
Windows XP Media Center Edition

I too am experiencing this. During gameplay the cinematic will skip or freeze entirely, yet the audio continues.

I am experiencing the opposite, after a few turns the spinning icons go mad (planets and ships in the construction screen)and spin at an incredible speed. Again this has only been an issue with the new beta.
I also get tthe main battle screen flickering really fast so that it is unwatchable

Also i got the same problem that during gameplay the cinematic will freeze and the audio goes on.

For me the music seem to stop after a cinematic is played. When I exit the game after the music has stopped the game will crash. I am not using the beta patch at the moment.
